Believe it or not, I listen to a lot of Christian music. It’s been slowly replacing my Spotify top charts for the past few years now, so I’d like to share some of my favorites for anyone looking to explore this genre more or potentially find some new artists.
Here are my top 5 favorite Christian artists:
5. LOST & FOUND
LOST & FOUND is definitely one of my favorite bands. I’d say they’re often going back and forth with number 4 on this list, depending on my mood at the time. They’re pretty accomplished so far, with over 1.2M monthly listeners on Spotify. The earliest release I saw on Spotify was in 2024, so they’ve been growing pretty quickly.
Their music is very upbeat, with a lot of Spanglish elements in there. I’ve definitely run their Spotify playlist for a while before, just letting song after song play. If you haven’t really listened to a lot of Christian music before, they’re definitely a good band to start with. I really like how they focus on specific verses and center their songs around those messages.
My top 3 favorite songs from them are Stand Against (Psalm 33), Every Morning (Lamentations 3), and David’s Cry (Psalm 56).
4. I Needed This Dave
Now for a very different type of music: I Needed This Dave. This artist is definitely less-known than most others on this list, but he’s absolutely one of my favorites. He has over 260K monthly listeners on Spotify, and his top song has nearly 7M streams.
I Needed This Dave has a very soulful Christian sound. This may sound odd, but his music makes me want to struggle for God. It’s what I imagine people listen to before going to war – it’s very strong.
My favorite 3 songs from him are March On, To Mount Zion!, The Fresh Genesis, and Bonfire.
3. Allison Eide
Allison Eide definitely deserves her spot on this list. I listen to her all the time, and I think she’s got multiple songs on every Christian playlist I’ve got. She’s also got over 300K monthly listeners on Spotify, and multiple songs with millions of streams.
Allison is a CCM (contemporary Christian music) singer, who addresses many of the challenges and shortcomings of Christians. She doesn’t shy away from the harder parts of life, covering topics related to faith, identity, and mental health in her music.
My 3 favorite songs from Allison Eide are HIPS, Liar (Truth Is), and for the King.
2. Forrest Frank
I think I’d have to question any top Christian artist list that didn’t have Forrest Frank on it. He’s arguably the biggest artist in the industry with about 8M monthly listeners on Spotify and multiple chart toppers to date.
Forrest is a solo artist with a very upbeat vibe to his music. I think it’s very encouraging and happy – definitely a great way to start the day. I love listening to him on my drive to work in the mornings to put myself a positive mood. He’s currently on his Jesus Generation tour, which I was lucky enough to see during his visit to Hershey.
My 3 favorite songs from Forrest are Jesus is Alive, Thankful, and Truth Will Set You Free.
1. The Band Jaren
And finally, my all time favorite Christian artist is The Band Jaren. I wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of this one before – they currently only have 195K monthly listeners on Spotify and 14 total songs (including their 3 Christmas covers which I have listened to in July before).
The Band Jaren is an all girl Christian pop-rock band, led by sisters Jaren and Jade (I wonder if they listed out ‘The Band’ in their name to distinguish from ‘the person’). I follow them on Instagram as well, where they like to post funny videos that encourage their followers to read their Bibles daily.
The only thing I think this band needs right now is more songs. I’m constantly playing their Spotify page through, and it isn’t quite a full hour long (with their Christmas music). I’m not sure what their end goals are, but I would love to see them in a concert one day, and for that, they’d need at least three times the amount of songs they have now. Personally, I think this is a really good problem for them to have. Can you imagine if their fans were asking for fewer songs? Wouldn’t be a great sign.
My top 3 favorite songs from them are Stand Strong, Poetic, and their newest release Symphony.
