Hi, I’m Jason!

I started The Zealous Heart because I wanted to create a space where I could share what I’ve learned during my faith journey, whether from what I’ve heard from others or pondered on my own. My hope is that this blog can introduce more people to Jesus and help them along their faith journeys as well.
To be very clear, I’m not a teacher. As James 3:1 states, “Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.” What I am is a follower of Christ who hopes his experiences and insight will be beneficial to anyone reading this blog.
A bit about me, I’m 23 and have a cat named Scar. He’s super adorable, but he’s also a little menace. I grew up going to church with my family and was always very curious about anything related to faith. My family used to call me ‘Pastor Jason.’ However, we stopped going to church when I was 11 and we moved to CT. I fell away from my faith for a long time. It would be kind to have said I was lukewarm.

I grew very isolated from other people and felt something was missing. When I was a junior in college, I came back to faith on my own; I met many like-minded Christians there and felt more connected to Him than ever.
Now I live in PA where I work in digital marketing. I attend LCBC Church and lead a young adult group there. While I still often make mistakes and mess up, the growth I’ve experienced in these last few years is insurmountable. I barely recognize who I was in my early college years, and I know it’s all thanks to Him.
I hope you enjoy my blog!
